2014 Final Four: Wisconsin vs Kentucky
I’m not sure this one needs much introduction. After a superlative run to the Final Four for the first time since 2000, the #2-seed Badgers lost 74-73 on a three point dagger from Aaron Harrison with five seconds left. With the game tied at 71, Traevon Jackson cannily drew a foul on triple with 15 seconds left but hit 2/3. Wisconsin had trouble keeping the Wildcats out of the lane all game as the Harrison twins were effective at the annoying Paul Pierce, DWade, James Harden thing where you wildly crash into the defender and throw your arms up and get the foul. I don’t blame Gasser for sitting back. He didn’t want to pick up a cheap foul and a very deep 3 is probably an acceptable outcome. Unfortunately, he made it.
Jackson raced down to the other end and was clearly fouled on the elbow (1:28:48 of the clip, with the guilty looking defender) and his shot bounced away. A tremendous season ended in a cruel manner.
FINAL: Kentucky 74 Wisconsin 73
