We will start with the least dramatic part.  His height.  Not something he can really work on or change during his senior season.

Height Without Shoes: 6’6.25″ (2016)  6’6.25″ (2017)
Height in Shoes: 6’7.25″ (2016)  6’7.5″ (2017)

So Hayes is 1/4 inch taller in shoes in 2017.  Good for him for drinking a little extra milk?  The height without shoes is presumably a good way to get a baseline for all prospects since there can be variation in how much extra altitude you get from different shoes.  Hayes was listed as 6-8″ on the Badgers’ official roster meaning they probably just rounded up.
