Personally, I find it hilarious how much attention is paid to hand size for the NFL Draft.  Of course Jared Goff and his tiny 9″ hands struggled last season for the Rams.  I tend to think hand size in football and basketball is considered more about minimum thresholds.  Essentially if you’re an outlier it’s mildly interesting, otherwise it’s not too significant.  But they measure it so I report it.

Hand Length: 8.5″ (2016, T-34th)  8.75″ (2017, T-24th)

Hand Width: 9.5″ (2016, T-16th)  10″ (2017 T-13th)

So maybe not to the unhealthy degree of the Grinch’s heart, but Hayes’ hands did grow in size from 2016 to 2017.  Maybe it was the spirit or singing of the student section.  Or more likely, they just measured it differently from last year to this year.
