New Rule: Legal Screens
"Redefine a legal screen to require that the inside of the screener’s feet be no wider than his shoulders."
I suppose this rule is designed to reduce collisions by making the screener stand in a more narrow manner. This rule is the one most likely to hurt the Badgers. Wisconsin uses a lot of ball screens in the front court. The Badgers will also use a big for screens a mid-court to ease passage for the point guard. This rule change will expose Happ to picking up some cheap fouls. Obviously the Wisconsin coaching staff will be drilling the big men on the rule changes. But it’s incumbent on Happ to be perfect every time he sets ball screens because Wisconsin can’t afford to have him on the bench with early fouls.
