The ex-Badger PG is holding multiple three-hour shooting clinics over two days in June

With the school year ending, its time to start planning your summer activities.  If you’re looking to improve your basketball range, or finally talk to your crush, you can shoot your shot with ex-Badger Bronson Koenig.

According to his new website, Wisconsin’s Bronson Koenig is holding a shooting instructional camp at the Johnson Creek Sports Facility on June 27th and 28th.  Each day will feature twin three-hour sessions with the morning time reserved for kids in 3rd-8th grade and the afternoon for high school aged kids.  The cost is $150 for the session.

Koenig asked his twitter followers about holding a shooting camp a month ago.  Evidently the replies were persuasive as were the 67 retweets and 1,388 likes.

Even the official Big Ten Network twitter account chimed in with its thoughts:

The advertisement indicates the camp sessions are from kids in 3rd-12th grade.  But lets hope Koenig makes an exception to include former teammates Ethan Happ, Khalil Iverson, and Brevin Pritzl who could all use refinements in their shooting mechanics.

Koenig’s 270 made three-point FGs is tops in program history and he ranks 9th all-time in scoring with 1,459 points.  He was named Second-Team All-Big Ten in 2017 and to the 2017 Big Ten All-Tournament Team.  Koenig earned Third-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2016.  During his Badger career, Koenig played in 148 games at Wisconsin including a pivotal role in the Final Four season in 2013-2014 after senior PG Traevon Jackson was injured.

Koenig is a long-shot (pun sort of intended) to be selected in the NBA draft last month.  As Trevor Jossart from BOH reported, Koenig worked out for the Bucks last week.

This is also a draft loaded with top prospects at the PG position.  CBS Sports does not have Koenig ranked among its PG prospects.

Neither NBADraft.net or DraftExpress have him among its top 100 overall prospects.  There is no question Koenig can score, dribble, and pass, but questions about his overall athletic profile and defensive ability limit his chances at being picked in the NBA Draft.  NBA Summer League followed by time in the Developmental League or professionally in Europe seem like Koenig’s most likely destinations.
