New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans made a splash this season acquiring Demarcus Cousins from Sacramento to pair with Anthony Davis inside.  New Orleans obviously isn’t going to need Hayes to be a dominant post scorer with Cousins and Davis in the mix.  But he could contribute valuable minutes in a reserve role to keep Davis and Cousins rested.  Davis is their marquee player and has battled injuries his entire career.   He has averaged 67 games played per season during his five years in the NBA.  A little insurance plus controlling his minutes is important for the Pelicans’ playoff hopes.  New Orleans has four forwards on its roster and the primary backups may be off the roster come 2018.  Hayes could be a good buy low option for the Pelicans to have in reserve for the 2018-19 NBA season.
