Sacramento Kings

The Kings gave away DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelicans in a fairly lopsided trade leaving a gaping hole in the interior.  Despite the trade, the Kings only finished two games behind the Pelicans in the western conference.  However, that means Sacramento finished 32-50 overall.  But with that trade, the Kings have the 5th and 10th picks in the upcoming NBA Draft.  All indications are Sacramento will do whatever it can to land De’Aaron Fox from Kentucky as its PG of the future.  The other choice means they can take a high upside player in the hopes of reversing its seemingly endless tailspin.  Much like the Knicks, I’m not sure this would be a great franchise to be a part of, but they do have a need for some post scoring. The Kings have Willy Cauley-Stein at the power forward slot and former The Ohio State Buckeye Kosta Koufas at center.  Both enter free agency in 2019.   Cauley-Stein is a known more for his defense and rebounding and Kofas has averaged 5.7 points/game for his career.  Sacramento has a surfeit of SG on the roster but not much in terms of interior size.  Hayes could slot in as a small forward with Koufas and Cauley-Stein or slot to the PF spot in a smaller lineup.
