Wisconsin Volleyball has one of its alums participating in the Pan American Cup
ex-Wisconsin Volleyball star Lauren Carlini was named to the Team USA team for the Pan Am Cup. Â The Pan Am Cup is being held in Peru from June 17th-25th with 12 different countries from North, South, Central America and the Caribbean taking part.
Wisconsin Volleyball’s Carlini is one of nine Big Ten athletes on the 14-women USA Volleyball roster for the Pan Am Cup.  She participated in the 2016 Pan Am Cup winning a bronze medal with Team USA.
An Aurora, Illinois native, the 6’2″ Carlini recently finished a decorated career for Wisconsin Volleyball.
"She wrapped up her Badger career last fall as the only four-time All-American in program history, including the only three-time first-team All-American. Carlini won the 2016 James E. Sullivan Award as the nation’s top amateur athlete, the first time a volleyball player has won the honor."

Carlini led the Badgers with 34 service aces during the last season averaging .28 per set. Â She finished 7th on the team on kills and 6th in kills/set.
Her primary job was as a setter and she amassed 1,441 of Wisconsin Volleyball’s 1,641 assists, 0r 87.8 percent of all assists, for a robust 11.8 assists/set average.  Carlini had the 2nd most digs on the 2016 Wisconsin Volleyball team with 320 total.  Finally, she recorded 99 blocks, good for 3rd on the squad.

Team USAÂ Volleyball has collected a trio of titles at the Pan Am Cup in the last five years. Â The Americans are tied with Cuba and the Dominican Republic with four total championships. Â USA Volleyball is in group with Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Argentina. Â The top three teams in the group will advance with the 2nd and 3rd place teams matching up with its Group B counterparts for a spot in the semifinals.
