Minnesota: Rodney Smith, RB

Badger of Honor’s Trevor Joassart is fond of calling Wisconsin “Running Back U” and he may be on to something.  But the Wisconsin offense has obviously missed Melvin Gordon the last couple years.  I mean how could it not.  Therefore, adding Rodney Smith from rival Minnesota would make sense.  Smith finished 4th in the Big Ten in rushing behind Wisconsin’s Corey Clement in 2016.  However, Smith had 16 TDs (one more than Clement) and a higher per carry average (4.8).  He was 6th in scoring in the Big Ten 2016 but 2nd among position players (four kickers were ahead of him).  Smith returned eight kicks for 263 total yards good for a robust 32.9 yards/return average.
