Purdue: Markus Bailey, CB

As we covered in the Iowa section, Wisconsin isn’t exactly desperate for reinforcements at LB.  That said, Chris Orr and Jack Cichy suffered season-ending injuries a year ago and Vince Biegel missed time.  Biegel and T.J. Watt are now in the NFL.  Given the critical role LBs play in the heart of the Badger defense, adding talent at the position can’t hurt.  Bailey was 11th in the Big Ten in total tackles in 2016 with 97 stops (8.1/game).   He tied with Wisconsin’s D’Cota Dixon for 5th in the Big Ten with four interceptions.   Bailey was the only LB to make the list of Big Ten interception stats, the rest of course being safeties and defensive backs.  At 6’1″ 231 pounds he definitely has the build to be useful in pass coverage.
