Michigan State was 60th in points allowed per game, 93rd in INT, 124th in sacks.  Will the Spartan defense revert to its traditional stingy form in 2017?

ANSWER: Last year was an extreme outlier. For years now, the Michigan State defense had been known as a stingy bunch, and it might not return to that original form in 2017, but in 2018 and beyond it will have the old feel. The defensive backfield is improved this season as well as the linebacking corps. The only area of weakness is the defensive line, but the sack total will surely improve. Don’t expect a huge step forward in 2017, but there will be strides in the right direction for sure.
