Offer a prediction for the defending Big Ten champs in 2017 because they sure look menacing?

I’d say they have a shot to win the Big Ten again.  The team returns so many starters and continue to add playmakers by the truck load.  Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan will obviously have something to say about that.  However, if McSorley can repeat this success and the defense continues to rise I’d expect at least another double-digit win season and at most a shot at the College Football Playoff.

Badger of Honor:

I think the polls have been clear that The Ohio State and Penn State are the best in the Big Ten.  The two meet in Columbus on October 28th.  In 2016, Penn State upset the Buckeyes in Happy Valley on a late blocked FG return.  The Nittany Lions then won the Big Ten East thanks to the Buckeyes beating Michigan.  Penn State of course beat Wisconsin to secure a spot in the Rose Bowl.  The Ohio State was locked out of the Big Ten title game but with just the one loss to Penn State, still made the College Football Playoff.

The reverse could absolutely occur this season.  Namely, Penn State’s lone loss is at The Ohio State but the Big Ten produces a two-loss champion and the Nittany Lions end up in the College Football Playoff.  Poetic in a way.  That Oklahoma The Ohio State result from week two could loom large come December.
