The Wisconsin Badgers host the Utah State Aggies in its first game of the 2017 college football season.  Below is one prediction for how it will play out

The Wisconsin Badgers are a sizable favorite against the visiting Utah State Aggies at Camp Randall Stadium on Friday evening.

Bucky enters the 2017 season with big aspirations and high expectations.  Here’s a prediction for the opening game of the Badger 2017 campaign .

Wisconsin is a consensus top ten team in the country according to a composite look at the rankings.  In sum, the Badgers have lots of good people on both sides of the ball.

Therefore, there’s no way they’ll drop the season opener at home against Utah State right?

No, there really isn’t.  Some cataclysm of turnovers, penalties, and special teams blunders is the only hope Utah State has to stay competitive.

Wisconsin should have no trouble smothering the Utah State offense.  Meanwhile, the Badger offense has enough skill position talent and experience on the offensive line to dominate the Aggies.

Final Score: Wisconsin 31  Utah State 6

The Badgers defense will be the story of the game keeping the Aggies out of the end zone.  Wisconsin will force a series of short possessions and quick punts for Utah State.  That will build a big advantage in field position and time of possession.  As a result, Utah State will start hemorrhaging yards and eventually points in the second half.

Bradrick Shaw will be the offensive star of the day for Wisconsin securing his role as the top RB in the pecking order.  Troy Fumagalli and Jazz Peavy are still really good at football.

On defense, TJ Edwards will impress in both run and pass defense.  But the depth on the defensive line will dominate the defensive headlines.  True freshman Isaiahh Loudermilk will make some splash plays on the DL.

In sum, a sterling opening effort for the Wisconsin Badgers to open the 2017 college football season.
