Previewing the Wisconsin – BYU game on Saturday afternoon with Lawless Republic, FanSided’s BYU Cougar news site.  Badger of Honor thanks Nathan Cunningham from Lawless Republic for his replies.

The Wisconsin Badgers face its first road test of the 2017 season with a visit to Provo, Utah to take on the BYU Cougars.

Not only will the Badgers be taking on a tough opponent, they’ll be doing it at altitude.

According to US Climate Data, Provo is 4,567 feet above sea level.  For comparison, Madison, Wisconsin is 863 feet above sea level according to the same source.

So hang on while I do a little quick math.  According to my calculations, that means Provo is either way higher in elevation or way way higher in elevation than Madison.

Thus, this will be a significant conditioning and fitness test for Wisconsin.  In fact, the Badgers may have to manage snap counts and extend the bench a bit to keep guys fresh all game.

Fortunately for Wisconsin, the Provo weather forecast looks comfortable, similar to last Saturday in Madison actually.

BYU has had a tough start to its season.  The Cougars are 1-2 having dropped two games after a season opening win over Portland State.  BYU was blanked by Dave Aranda and the LSU defense.  The Cougars then lost to Utah in the “Holy War” on Saturday.

The problem thus far has been the offense.  The Cougars have just 33 points scored in its three games.

So read on to learn more about what to expect from BYU on Saturday.  Our profound thanks again to Nathan from Lawless Republic.
