Student Athletes

Bernstein earned numerous academic accolades during his college career in addition to his football achievements.  So perhaps the answer to my question here should have been obvious to me.

What is the biggest misconception of college football players?

That we are all dumb jocks.  Being a college athlete and especially a football player you have so much responsibility outsides of class.  Regular students go to class and study.  Football players have to go to school, study, lift in the morning, practice in the afternoon, mandatory study tables, get tutored, and try to do laundry all in the same day.  It is almost insanity how much you can’t accomplish.

As you disappointed or glad you weren’t in college during the rise of social media?

SOOOOOO happy.  Wow.  Social media is the downfall of this great country.  Haha, but I love Instgram and Facebook and everything else so I am the problem.  But to answer your question. YES!  I am so happy no one could have filmed the dumb things I used to do.  But on the other side you couldn’t take cool pics with your boys on the field or in the locker room unless you had a wind up camera.  People being able to tag you in pics when they see you on the field or when you pose with them is also super cool.  But those bar tags is where you get in trouble.  But what would I know about the bar…
