3rd Quarter

Quintez Cephus with a nice gain on first down pass play out to the Wisconsin 40.  Taylor looked liked he was going to rip off another chunk but up-ended after just 5.    Yet another penalty, pre snap false start and its 2nd-and-10.  Hornibrook rolls left off play action and Fumagalli blanketed.  Hornbirook throws high, wide, and late to Taylor.  Incomplete.  Wisconsin punts again.

Huskers start at its 26.  Another good first down run.  Badgers just getting pushed around again.   Jacobs dumps Lee on that 2nd down throw and its 3rd-and-9.  Nebraska has to throw it away on 3rd down as pressure starting to get there now.  Another great punt and Wisconsin pinned. again.

Taylor picks his way for a couple but Alec  Ingold couldn’t keep his block.  Jon Dietzen “questionable” for the Badgers so a new Center in there.  Jason Erdmann.  TOUCHDOWN NEBRASKA.  Dreadful Pick6 tossed by Hornibrook.  His primary options covered so he stares down to his right and soft tosses an underneath throw.  Baited and picked and waltzed into the end zone to draw Nebraska level.

Nebraska 17  Wisconsin 17  10:43 3rd Quarter

Taylor fumbles on the return, his second in as many weeks.  An alert Garrett Groshek pounces on the loose ball.  Meanwhile, holding and unsportsmanlike backs up the Badgers again.  Taylor runs for a hard 7 or so.  Taylor slaloms his way through the Nebraska front for a fresh set of downs.  Some shake and bake on that run.  Taylor drags a couple ball carriers with him and gets another first down.  I think I figured out the game plan now.  Shaw stacked up for a one-yard gain.  Hornibrook hands to Ibrahim this time for a short gain.   Cephus on a crossing route again and he jets away from Husker defenders to take it down to the red area.  Little slant route as he stutters towards an outside move and breaks in.  Nice easy throw.    Taylor ripping through tackles and Badgers are inside the 10.  Taylor moves the Badgers down to the 6.   Taylor forced to dance as blocking doesn’t materialize.  On 3rd-and-goal Hornibrook back shoulder to Cephus for the TOUCHDOWN BADGERS

Wisconsin 24  Nebraska 17  4:56 3rd Quarter

Nebraska continues to chip away with first down runs.    This time a run stacked up and Badgers force a 3rd-and-6.  Big chance to get off the field. Instead, Jacobs nearly had Lee but he gets the  throw over James and Tindal allows the completion.  Every unit gets a ding on that one.  Nelson breaks up a middle throw to Morgan.    Wisconsin run defense led by Orr allow little and Huskers are in 3rd-and-10.  Lee with time and Tindal gets beat on the slant.  Dixon whiffs on the tackle but Jacobs hustles downfield to stop the bleeding.  Van Ginkely strong on a 1st down run.  Check down and Edwards and Jacob steam up for punishment.  Another 3rd down as quarter winds down.  Badgers blitz but its picked up,  Edwards eventually slams the door as Lee starts to scramble.  Quarter ends and Nebraska will have a decision to make.
