Wisconsin football hosts neighbor Iowa this Saturday the toughest opponent to date.  To learn more about the Hawkeyes, Badger of Honor gathers intel from our friends at Dear Old Gold

As fall and I guess in the midwest winter arrives the schedule toughens up for Wisconsin football.  With it means a smaller margin of error in games.

But it also means real opportunity to convert some Wisconsin football skeptics that populate the college football polling world.

Wisconsin’s soft slate has definitely hurt its national reputation and ranking.  Especially since the Badgers have underwhelmed but not overwhelmed seemingly overmatch opponents.

That all changes for the next couple weeks.

The first big test of the season is against the Iowa Hawkeyes in Madison at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday.  The Hawkeyes are 6-3 this season and an even 3-3 in Big Ten play.

Notably, the Hawkeyes three conference losses are to then #4 Penn State at home on the last snap of the game.  They lost on the road the following week to Michigan State 17-10.  The only bad loss is to Northwestern again on the road by the same 17-10 margin.

Of course, Iowa is fresh off a resounding win thumping (then) #6 The Ohio State 55-24.  Iowa forced four Buckeye turnovers and kept a clean sheet itself.  So it’s safe to assume the Hawkeyes are feeling themselves right about now and Wisconsin catches them soaring.

Keep in mind, the last three Wisconsin – Iowa meetings (Bucky is 2-1) have been decided by a combined 16 points.
