Getting Into Big Ten Conference Play

Besides Dan Dakich, nobody thinks Ohio State is going to finish better than 10th. The Badgers aren’t much better in some polls, but the game is in Madison.

Bucky handled the Buckeyes at the KC last year. I expect the same as Happ will be a mismatch.

Wisconsin then travels to Happy Valley for a showdown with the Penn State basketball team. We may not get a chance at their football team, but the basketball team will be more competitive than people think (myself included).

No matter how good their scorers are, they’re still young. The Badgers are young too. Davison and King look like veterans though. Expect a big splash to start the conference season.

Optimists say the Badgers are 7-2.

Sorry Tony, for the sake of this Badger basketball season preview, we’re going to say the Badgers win.

Wisconsin goes back to non-conference play for a while. They’re at Temple and then home again against that other team from Milwaukee.

After winning the AAC regular season title in 2015-16, Temple really struggled last season. They have their top two scorers returning from last season.

This could be a trap game as they had out east. They have some height that is going to challenge the inexperienced front court of Wisconsin. It’ll be a close one, but the Badgers should eek out a “better than you think” victory.
