WR George Rushing Leaving a Good Move
After missing his entire season year to injury, senior WR George Rushing announced on Thursday he will be leaving the Wisconsin football program
Wisconsin senior WR George Rushing posted a message on twitter on Thursday that he will be leaving Badger football. He played in 39 games during his first three seasons in Madison before missing all of the 2017 season due to injury.
While Rushing is a senior, but will take advantage of the graduate transfer rule in order to complete his college football career.
Rushing caught 18 passes for 208 yards in his three years for the cardinal and white. However, of that total, 12 catches and 136 yards came in his junior year after limited work his first two campaigns.
Badger of Honor certainly wishes Rushing the best. This is definitely a good move for him and for Wisconsin football.
There simply wasn’t likely to be much of a role for him moving forward with the Badgers. Wisconsin is just enjoying a youthful renaissance at the position.

Senior TE Troy Fumagalli led the team in receiving. But among the WR this year, Wisconsin was led by three freshman and one sophomore.
- Quintez Cephus (sophomore): 30 catches, 501 yards, 6 TD
- AJ Taylor (sophomore): 23 catches, 370 yards, 4 TD
- Danny Davis (freshman): 21 catches, 362 yards, 2 TD
- Kendric Pryor (freshman): 11 catches, 149 yards, 1 TD, 5 carries, 64 rushing yards, 2 TD
For what its worth, that are the 2nd through 4th best receiving marks on the Badgers. They’ll all be back next season and thus the WR snaps are probably pretty well claimed.
