4. Indiana University, 2012-2013

Alas, IUBB. This team had sooo much talent, but it did not capitalize when it mattered most. Indiana was once a blue blood under the Chair-Chucker-in-Chief. IU still has outstanding seasons from time to time, but they are interspersed between their all too common uber-talented and underachieving seasons. Hoosier Ball circa 2012-2013 might actually exemplify both.

Indiana seemed like a team of destiny throughout the season. Led by Cody Zeller and Hoosierette-darling Victor Oladipo, the other candidate for best current NBA player from the Big Ten.

This IU team was GOOOOOD. The Bloomington Boys spent 18 weeks ranked as the AP’s No. 1 team in the country. IU won the Big Ten regular season outright before Wisconsin upset them in the Big Ten Tournament, portending a less-than-stellar NCAA Tournament for the Hoosiers. The selection committee correctly deemed Indiana a 1-seed, but IU would fall to Syracuse in the Big Dance with a lackadaisical Sweet 16 showing.
