Sophomore Danny Davis really burst onto the scene in the Orange Bowl, catching five passes for 56 yards and three touchdowns.  That’s right, three touchdowns…against the “Turnover Chain” Miami defense.  His first one was a beautiful contested jump ball catch, showing that he had come to play.

Up until then Davis had a solid, but quiet Freshman season. In all he caught 26 passes for 418 yards and five touchdowns. The Orange Bowl was thrilling to watch as Davis managed to get open multiple times.

With Cephus injured, Davis stepped up in a huge way in the second half of the season.  His biggest game came against Iowa, where he caught four passes for 74 yards.  After that game Davis was more frequently targeted and seemed to find his comfort zone in the Badger offense.

Davis was a four-star recruit out of Ohio and also held many offers (13 total).  Alabama, LSU, Penn State, and even Ohio State couldn’t get Davis to commit.  After weeks of hard work and showing Davis that the Badgers offered the best fit, Wisconsin added a great potential recruit late in the game.

With this only being his second year, Davis has a great opportunity to grow in this offense.
