Zeitler was the 10th-best guard in 2017, according to Pro Football Focus, which classifies him as an above-average player at his position.

Zeitler started his career in Cincinnati and played well there until last season. The former first-round pick signed a massive deal with the Browns prior to 2017 that made him the richest guard in the NFL. The five-year, $60 million deal was well worth it in Cleveland’s eyes as they hope to establish a dominant line for its young offense.

With Baker Mayfield in the fold now as the franchise quarterback, offensive line is the second most important issue. After finding a quarterback, you must protect him. As a guard, it’s also Zeitler’s job to help create running lanes, which the Browns will hope to improve on in 2018.

At Wisconsin

Much like Wagner, Zeitler saw time early and often at Wisconsin. He was a starter for the majority of his last three years as a Badger. He and Wagner played together for a couple years at Wisconsin, which is why the offense was booming around the turn of the decade. Zeitler earned All-America honors his senior season.

The Browns clearly have a long way to go after finishing last year with a record of 0-16. Former Wisconsin Badger and NFL legend Joe Thomas is no longer in Cleveland, but Zeitler will help hold it down during the rebuilding process. As the Browns continue to improve, expect Zeitler to be a significant part of it.
