Wisconsin Football: Seven team strengths in 2018
Home field advantage
Wisconsin football has one of the best home field advantages in the sport. Those that have been to Camp Randall know. Those that haven’t been, want to go.
The Badgers play just about every tough game this year on the road so the Camp Randall crowd won’t be able to help them get over any major opponents. However, the crowd can help ensure the Badgers don’t get upset at home. It’s very unlike Wisconsin to take a team for granted and flirt with an upset, but if it starts to happen with Nebraska, Minnesota, or BYU you can trust the crowd to help keep momentum with the Badgers.
Great teams win on the road because it’s a given that they win at home. Wisconsin is no different here. When a team comes to play the Badgers in Madison, they know it’s an uphill climb as soon as they leave the locker room. Wisconsin is going to play hard and make plays, and the crowd is going to back them as well as anybody in the country.
And just when you think the Badgers might be on the ropes, the 4th quarter begins, the whole places Jumps Around, and everybody in Badger colors is revitalized and that uphill climb starts all over.
