Wisconsin Football Twitter Awards

There’s a new trend making its way through Twitter. We decided to join in on the fun and create a Wisconsin Football edition.

Twitter dominates the world of social media and does a great job of letting us know what’s trending. You may have seen the latest buzz about creating some superlatives. There are people doing it for NFL teams, position groups, and even taking it beyond the world of sports.

Handing out imaginary awards is a fun activity for sports fans so we decided to take a crack at the trend making its way through the interwebs. Wisconsin Football is near and dear to all of our hearts, so what better way than to join in by handing these awards out to some Badgers?

Wisconsin is full of stars, who are most of the returning talents from last season. The backups are guys without much playing time. There isn’t much in between. These awards, while fun, were kind of difficult to assign. It was tough to figure out who to give some of these too, but others made too much sense. I also took this as an opportunity to shine some light on some lesser covered Badgers, as some of the award names imply.

The seven awards are Breakout guy, Comeback kid, Rising star, Don’t forget about, Needs to rebound, Darkhorse all-pro (or all-conference), and Under the radar.
