Wisconsin Football - A.J. Taylor

Don’t Forget About: WR A.J. Taylor

This award goes to a player that is often underappreciated. He just as good as his peers, but doesn’t have as fun of a story or as cool of a nickname. For the Badgers, this is A.J. Taylor. We just got done talking about Quintez Cephus, and although Taylor had over 100 yards receiving in the Orange Bowl last year, it was Danny Davis who garnered all the attention for his three scores. Plus, Taylor shares a surname with the star of the Badger offense, running back Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor’s two biggest games of the year came against two of Wisconsin’s biggest opponents. Against Michigan, Taylor had three catches for 79 yards, and the score that put Wisconsin in the lead in the second half. In the Orange Bowl, he caught eight passes for his only 100-yard performance of the year.

Taylor seems like he’s the kind of guy that shows up in big games and he’s going to be a consistent and reliable receiver in the offense moving forward. He may not always put up the best numbers or get all the glory, but he’s just as good as anybody else on the team. Taylor’s junior year should be his best one yet.
