Badger of Honor writers predict Wisconsin Football schedule
Week 13 vs Minnesota
Sam Land
The roster is not much better this year, though the Gophers do return a reliable running back in Rodney Smith and much of their defense. They might win more than 5 games, but not many. Wisconsin is far more talented up and down the roster than the Gophers, and anything less than a blowout would be a disappointment.
Wisconsin 38 – Minnesota 14
Zac Pestine
Minnesota has not won the Axe since 2003, and it is very difficult to see that changing this year.
Wisconsin 41 – Minnesota 9
Steven Tondi
Similar to last year, the Badgers will be well on their way to the Big Ten Championship game going into Ax Week with higher goals still in play. A win against Minnesota will put the Badgers in a position to earn a College Football Playoff berth if they win in Indianapolis. Despite the Gophers having an underwhelming season, Wisconsin will not overlook P.J. Fleck’s young squad. Minnesota will provide great effort early, but Wisconsin’s beautiful behemoths on the offensive line will take their will in the second half. Taylor runs all over the Minnesota defense with Alec Ingold punching in 2 touchdowns himself. Badgers dominate and finish the regular season 11-1.
Wisconsin 41 – Minnesota 14
Christian Borman
Wisconsin is still too much for P.J. Fleck and the Gophers. The Badgers raise Paul Bunyan’s Ax yet again, extending Wisconsin’s impressive streak to 15 years.
Wisconsin 31 – Minnesota 13
Taylor Laabs
P.J. Fleck and crew are rowing their boat towards another dismal season at this point. The Badgers provide a bit of wind in their losing sails and steamroll the Gophers at home.
Wisconsin 42 – Minnesota 14
Tanner Nestle
Minnesota had an incredible chance last season to upset Wisconsin as they were potentially looking ahead to the Big Ten Championship. The Badgers blew out the Gophers then, and it’ll happen here.
Wisconsin 45 – Minnesota 9
