There is light at the end of the tunnel as the Wisconsin Badgers will take on Western Kentucky this Friday night.  It is finally time to break down some Wisconsin football and welcome the 2018 season.

Wisconsin football welcomes its first opponent, Western Kentucky, who is coming off a disappointing season finishing with a record of 6-7.  After back to back Conference USA conference titles the Hilltoppers regressed in 2017. This regression was somewhat expected after losing current Purdue coach Jeff Brohm. And quarterback Mike White is now off to the NFL.

I am sure they will be looking to make a statement in the opener at Camp Randall.  However, they may have made reservations for a long night against a hungry, motivated Wisconsin team.

This matchup might not be the most exciting we will see this season, but in a year where the Wisconsin Badgers have sky-high expectations, every game will be significant.  I expect the Badgers to come out strong, ready to prove that they are a part of the elite in college football.

SHEEEEEESH!!!  What “AreaRED” is has not been explained yet, but if they keep releasing teasers like that I am all in.  Badger of Honor speculated on what it could entail but no definitive details have been released.  I am so excited to welcome college football back into my life.

Without further ado, let’s talk about an actual football game. Here are a few key matchups to keep an eye on for Friday’s game and Badger of Honor’s first official post of the 2018 Wisconsin Badgers season.
