Wisconsin Football has some great leaders. But who are the X-factors in each position group?

The difference between leaders, key players, and X-factors in each position group are very small, but significant. The leaders and key players are known in the Wisconsin football program. And they’re stars. However, X-factors don’t have to be stars. Some are more rotational pieces of the game plan.

These players are important because it’s up to them to help solidify the entire unit and make sure it doesn’t become a burden on the rest of the team. The stars of each position group are well known, but they can only do so much. The players listed in this post must hold up their end of the bargain. If they do, Wisconsin is in for a lot of success.

It goes without saying that Alex Hornibrook is the most important piece and X-factor of the quarterback position group. If everything goes well, he’ll be the only one to take meaningful snaps for the Badgers. Hornibrook holds most of what will decide the fate of Wisconsin’s season. Even though the Badgers will play through the run, Hornibrook’s arm will come into play. Without a strong season from him, the Badgers will struggle to reach their goals.

And that’s what determines who an X-factor is. Without the following players’ contributions, Wisconsin will struggle to reach its goals. Success can still be had, but it’s much easier to achieve with these X-factors helping out in big ways.
