WIDE RECEIVERS. A-. . . Wisconsin Badgers

Only two receivers on the team, both starters, A.J. Taylor and Kendric Pryor, tallied more than one catch on the night. Taylor led the position with five catches for 85 yards, while Pryor had four catches for 51 yards and the lone touchdown for the group.

This position group is going through some tough times without Quintez Cephus and Danny Davis on the field, but Taylor and Pryor both looked awesome Friday night. I trust these two will be able to hold down pass-catching responsibilities as long as they need to.

Taylor lost focus on a few throws and let some would-be catches slip through his hands, which is the cause for the minus grade here. Having to step into the new role is something he and Pryor had to be ready for, but neither drop really cost the Badgers anything. It’s something to improve on for next week and isn’t worth diving into unless it becomes a trend.

Only two other receivers on the roster tallied catches, Jack Dunn and Adam Krumholz, who took those for 20 and five yards, respectively. As the receiver group gets back to full strength we’ll have to see if the plan changes to get the ball down the field a bit more. Otherwise, it looks like a two-man show, plus whatever passing work Hornibrook can get to the backs and tight ends.

Also worth noting is Pryor’s one carry on a sweep that he took for a nice chunk of 19 yards. It’s good to see he’s still a threat on the ground.
