Wisconsin football plays host to New Mexico in its second game of the season.

We saw some pleasant surprises in week one from the Wisconsin football program against Western Kentucky. Some position groups didn’t perform as well as we had hoped, but a dominating win is still a dominating win.

A lot of questions were answered thanks to some standout performers and they’ve given us plenty to look forward to this week against the Lobos from New Mexico.

New Mexico will be vastly outmatched against the Badgers in this game and we should see a very similar result to last Friday. I’m actually counting on it being worse for the opponent now that the Badgers have a full game’s worth of film to analyze and adjust to, both from themselves and New Mexico.

Wisconsin will likely win as heavy favorites with a lot of the same strategy that it used to beat Western Kentucky. The most useful of those things was time. The Hilltoppers just couldn’t keep up with the Badgers through four quarters. The Lobos won’t be able to either. At the very least, Wisconsin will be able to wait out New Mexico and win on strength alone.

But there are some Badgers that I think will expedite that process and do their best to see the Badgers to a commanding lead early on in the game. For some of these players, confidence is high. For others, a nice bounce-back performance is in the works. Either way, here are five Wisconsin Badgers to watch for in this weekend’s game against New Mexico.
