Wisconsin Football made a few moves on the recruiting trail yesterday as it looks to add to its 2020 class

While the primary focus for Wisconsin Football this week is emerging victorious against New Mexico on Saturday, Paul Chryst and his staff made sure to get their foot in the door with a couple of recruits in the class of 2020 that they like.

The first prospect to announce his Wisconsin offer was running back Ty Jordan (Mesquite, TX).

The 5’8, 180 lbs. back is rated as a high 3-star recruit according to the industry-generated 247Sports composite rankings. He is listed as the No. 3 all-purpose back in the football hotbed that is the state of Texas, and the No. 360 overall player in the nation.

Jordan’s highlights are very impressive, and his skillset would be a fantastic fit for the Wisconsin offense, or pretty much any offense, frankly.

He is an exciting playmaker who can make an impact in a variety of ways. Jordan is a great pass-catcher out of the backfield, but he is not just a “scat back” as his size would suggest. He shows plenty of ability running between the tackles and can fight through contact and make defenders miss. Jordan is also a deadly weapon in the return game.

He holds additional offers from programs such as Boston College, Houston, Illinois, SMU, Syracuse, Texas, and Utah, but with it being relatively early in the 2020 cycle you can expect some bigger names to likely get involved. The Longhorns, in particular, could ultimately pose the biggest challenge for the Badgers to overcome with them being right in Jordan’s backyard.

Jordan is the ninth running back in the class of 2020 to receive an offer from Wisconsin.

The second player to receive an offer from the Badgers yesterday was cornerback Keontae Jenkins (Virginia Beach, VA).

Jenkins is a 4-star recruit and ranks as the No. 212 overall player in the nation. He is the brother of Florida State star cornerback Levonta Taylor.

It will be no easy feat for the Badgers to earn a commitment here. Jenkins already has a daunting offer list that includes Florida State, Virginia Tech, Florida, Louisville, Maryland, Nebraska, Penn State, TCU, and Tennessee, among others.

Jenkins is the third cornerback in the class of 2020 to earn a Wisconsin offer.

Wisconsin’s only commitment in the class of 2020 at the moment is from in-state 4-star offensive tackle Jack Nelson out of Stoughton.
