Wisconsin football welcomes BYU to Madison in week three.

BYU comes to town to face Wisconsin football in the final non-conference game of the regular season. The Cougars are 1-1 with an impressive win over Arizona and a close loss to Cal last week.

I think the game against Cal is a better indicator of how the game will go this week than the Arizona game. The Badgers are better on defense and don’t have a dynamic quarterback like Arizona. And Cal is a tougher team with a good defense. That game was played closer to how I project the Badger game to go, but the Badgers are better than Cal.

BYU is going to be outmatched. If they win, it’ll be a huge upset. Last year, Wisconsin destroyed BYU behind a four-touchdown performance from Alex Hornibrook. BYU ended up having a disappointing season and hopes to turn things around this year.

This game should be closer than the first two for Wisconsin. BYU is more talented than Western Kentucky and New Mexico by a fair stretch. However, Wisconsin also started slowly in both of those games. Anything is possible, but I don’t think it’s very likely the Badgers come out of the gates slow for a third week in a row.

The Badgers are heavy favorites and are expected to win. If that happens, these five players will likely play a large role in it. The first two could decide the game entirely on their own, but we’ll keep it uniform and talk about three more guys I really like.
