The Coaches

Wisconsin

Last week, Paul Chryst and the rest of the Wisconsin football coaching staff notched another win, their 20th straight regular season win. The last regular season loss that Chryst and company suffered was way back in 2016 when the Badgers lost in overtime to  #2 Ohio St. in overtime, 30-23.

The Wisconsin football coaching staff will also look to continue the impressive home winning streak against non-conference opponents, which now stands at 41 straight games.

BYU

The Cougars are led by head coach Kalani Sitake. Sitake is in his third year as the head coach. In his first season, he led the Cougars to a 9-4 season and a win over Wyoming in the Poinsettia Bowl.

Last season was a bit of a setback. After an opening game win over Portland State, the Cougars went on to lose seven straight games by an average of just over 20 points per game. After their losing streak, Sitake was able to win three of the next five and finish the season with a 4-9 record.

Offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes is in his first year at BYU. He spent his previous four years as the run game coordinator and offensive line coach at LSU.

As the run game coordinator at LSU, he helped Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette and Redskins running back Darrius Guice become two of the elite running backs in college football. He is now working on senior running back Squally Canada, who is off to a solid start this season.

Defensive coordinator and defensive line coach Ilaisa Tuiaki is in his third season at BYU. He was previously the defensive line coach at Utah, where he was a nominee for the 2013 Broyles Award which is given to the top assistant coach in the country. He was the only non-coordinator to receive a nomination.
