Ohio State came away with the most impressive showing of the weekend by beating TCU in a pseudo-road game in Arlington, Texas. TCU took a 21-13 lead into the third quarter but only managed one more score the remainder of the game. Ohio State’s elite defense locked the Horned Frogs down. And the Buckeyes did it mostly without Nick Bosa, who is going to miss this weekend’s game too.
The Buckeyes have made it through Urban Meyer’s three-game suspension without so much as a hiccup. Now that Meyer is back, the Buckeyes will likely continue to dominate. They’ll host Tulane this weekend before heading to Happy Valley.
What Meyer will want to do in his first game back is unclear. He could want to get a feel for his team or just unload everything on Tulane to keep confidence high. Regardless of his decision, Ohio State will slaughter Tulane and should be the favorite over Penn State.
I don’t see how anybody can stop Ohio State right now. The team is just playing too well. Penn State is the last stop before the Big Ten Championship game that I think will challenge Ohio State. Yes, I know the Buckeyes still play Michigan.
The Buckeyes are far and away the best team in the Big Ten to this point in the season. Dethroning them won’t be easy.
Check in next week to see how the Wisconsin vs. Iowa matchup affects these rankings, and if any unranked team can break through.
