Wisconsin football has a case to move up in Big Ten power rankings
If not for Ohio State, Penn State would be the talk of the Big Ten. After it’s own week one scare Penn State has been a machine. Trace McSorley is leading his offense to over 55 points per game through four weeks. Even when the going gets tough for the Nittany Lions, they get going. Illinois had a 24-21 lead over Penn State halfway through the third quarter of their game Friday night. Penn State scored six touchdowns in the closing quarter and a half to close out the win.
It’s almost impossible to replace Saquon Barkley but Miles Sanders is doing the best job he possibly can. Through four games the junior has almost 500 yards rushing. He’s become a huge part of the success of the team and will play a role in any success they have down the road.
Penn State’s defense is of concern but that concern can only be so big with an offense as explosive as the one led by McSorley and Sanders. It’ll be put to the test when it plays Ohio State this weekend.
McSorley is quietly putting together the kind of season that can be catapulted to the forefront of the Heisman Trophy race at any moment. With a big showdown against the Buckeyes this weekend he’ll have a chance to put his team in a place to earn a playoff spot and cement himself in the Heisman race with the always sought after ‘Heisman Moment.’
With Wisconsin on bye this weekend there’s no excuse to miss this game between Penn State and Ohio State.
