Wisconsin Football: Current state of the 2019 recruiting class
By Sam Land
Wide Receiver
Commitments
Marcus Graham- Mount Holly, NC (Mountain Island Charter)
Other current targets:
Stephan Bracey- Grand Rapids, MI (East Kentwood)
As of now, Marcus Graham is Wisconsin’s only commit in the class expected to play wide receiver. The 3-star prospect committed to Wisconsin in April and is currently the lowest-ranked player in the class, but don’t read too much into that, as Graham has “hidden gem” written all over him.
Unfortunately, Graham suffered a season-ending ACL injury in his first game this season. However, throughout his high school career, he demonstrated exciting athleticism and playmaking ability that Wisconsin’s coaching staff has got to be excited about unleashing in the future. Graham, a versatile offensive weapon who played quarterback, receiver, and running back for his high school team, ultimately recorded 4,000 passing yards, just under 2,000 rushing yards, and 268 receiving yards to go along with 81 total touchdowns for his career.
Look for Wisconsin to continue searching for a second receiver to pair with Graham in this class.
The staff had been satisfied with the two-man class of Graham and 4-star Nolan Groulx (Cornelius, NC), but Groulx decommitted from Wisconsin in May and ultimately chose to stay closer to home and play for Wake Forest.
Stephan Bracey (Grand Rapids, MI) could be the one to fill that vacancy. A teammate of Wisconsin commit Logan Brown at East Kentwood, Bracey visited Madison a couple weekends ago and remains in communication with the Wisconsin staff.
A bit of a sleeper in the class, Bracey holds offers from Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Western Illinois. Wisconsin has not offered, but if that changes you would think there would be a strong chance Bracey ends up a Badger considering his other offers as well as his connection with Brown.
