Commitments

Logan Brown- Grand Rapids, MI (East Kentwood)

Joe Tippmann- Fort Wayne, IN (Bishop Dwenger)

Other current targets

Bryce Benhart- Lakeville, MN (Lakeville North)

Badger fans should be pumped about Wisconsin’s two-man offensive line class of Logan Brown and Joe Tippmann.

The 5-star Brown is the second highest-rated commitment for Wisconsin in the recruiting rankings era, trailing only fellow offensive tackle Josh Oglesby (class of 2007). Simply put, he is a very special talent who already appears destined for greatness at what many consider “Offensive Line U”.

Tippmann is no slouch himself. The 3-star tackle out of Indiana was another solid win on the recruiting trail for Wisconsin, as the staff managed to pull him away from Big Ten rivals Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue. Notre Dame was also interested and could have offered down the line.

Trending. Wisconsin has a case to move up in Big Ten power rankings. light

That being said, Wisconsin would probably like to add another lineman to this class if possible. Mammoth tackle Bryce Benhart remains the top target in that regard, and probably on the remaining recruiting board as a whole. The 6’8, 305-pound 4-star out of Minnesota will not be a layup, however. Wisconsin is in a good position, but Nebraska has been trending as well and could be the biggest threat to land him. Tennessee, Michigan, and Minnesota appear to still be in this thing as well.

If Wisconsin were to succeed in reeling in Benhart, we are probably talking about the best offensive line recruiting class in program history. The idea of a starting offensive tackle tandem of he and Logan Brown should have Badger fans salivating.

Benhart will remain Wisconsin’s top remaining target in the 2019 class until he makes a decision. However, I would imagine that the staff is mulling some offers with some other linemen at the moment in preparation for the event that he winds up elsewhere.
