Wisconsin football has some big games left on the schedule.

The season for the Wisconsin football team has not gone as planned. The loss to Michigan might be fine had the Badgers not lost to BYU in week three. Jonathan Taylor has been incredible, but the defense has taken a step back. Alex Hornibrook hasn’t taken the step forward we expected, though he’s still capable of leading this team to victory most weeks.

In order to ensure this season is still a success even though College Football Playoff and national championship dreams are lost the Badgers need to step up in some huge matchups. Don’t let the fact that only one ranked opponent remains on the schedule fool you. Wisconsin has its work cut out.

The obvious game left on the schedule is against Penn State. That’s something that Badger fans may have been looking forward to more than the game against Michigan. Before the season, that’s the game that I thought Wisconsin had a better chance of winning. Penn State was looking at too much turnover and Michigan’s defense was going to be too good. Halfway through the season, that projection looks true and Wisconsin has a shot to go to Penn State and win.

Beyond that game, the Badgers have several must-win games. You could argue every game is a must-win, but some are clearly more important than others.

Here are the four games that remain on Wisconsin’s schedule, presented in order of importance, that Wisconsin needs to win.
