Biggest games for Wisconsin football the rest of the year
Wisconsin’s Bowl Game
The biggest opponent left on the schedule for Wisconsin is whoever it plays in the bowl game. Whether it’s a New Year’s Six bowl the Badgers get for upsetting somebody in the Big Ten Championship, or a bowl game they need to win to simply get to get to 10 wins, it’ll go a long way in seeing that the offseason is a pleasant one.
The buzz coming into the season was largely due to the huge win in the Orange Bowl over Miami. Your performance in the bowl game is the last thing fans remember from the season. It can do so many great or awful things for a fun or disappointing season. If Wisconsin gets a big win in bowl season, all of Alex Hornibrook’s woes will be forgotten, the defense taking a step back will be forgotten, seniors will go out on a high note, and Paul Chryst’s bowl record in Madison will remain perfect.
Wisconsin is still on track to play in a solid bowl game against a team that would resemble a quality win. It’ll also likely be a team that Wisconsin can get a leg up on a recruiting battle if they win. Two of Paul Chryst’s three bowl wins with the Badgers came against USC and Miami, both right in the middle of recruiting gold mines.
A bowl win over Texas A&M, South Carolina, or Virginia Tech, or any other school of the like, would be a great win for Wisconsin.
