Wisconsin Football is matched with SEC in bowl projections
TaxSlayer Gator Bowl vs. Texas A&M
Sporting News has Wisconsin pitted in the same bowl as SI against an SEC West team, but this time facing the Aggies under first-year head coach Jimbo Fisher.
Just about everything Auburn has to offer, A&M does too. A well-respected coach, a team full of great talent from a premier conference in a recruiting hotbed, and the potential for a great win. Wisconsin has never played Texas A&M either. This is what bowl games are all about.
Texas A&M is currently 5-2, with two tough road games coming up in the next two weeks at Mississippi State and at Auburn. If A&M can at least split those games they have a good shot to finish the season strong and end up in this bowl game. They have a game at the end of the year against LSU that could swing things drastically for the Aggies though, who currently sits at No. 16 in the AP Poll.
It’s likely A&M finishes 9-3 or 8-4, which is about where Wisconsin could finish with tough road games of its own coming up. Both of these teams would be battle-tested and well-coached in this hypothetical bowl game. The outcome will be determined by how they perform down the stretch. The talent is present on both teams to be able to win this game.
