The Citrus Bowl vs. Kentucky

Another SEC team, this time in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, is Wisconsin’s projected opponent according to 247 Sports. Kentucky has been everyone’s darling in the SEC so far and would still be undefeated if not for its loss at Texas A&M a couple of weeks ago.

Kentucky has a tough game on the road against Missouri then hosts Georgia before finishing the season with winnable games. The Wildcats currently sit at No. 12 in the AP Poll. Depending on what they do in these next two games, they may compete for the SEC championship and end up in a bigger bowl than Wisconsin.

The Badgers have only played Kentucky once, in 1984. Again, this is what bowl season is all about. The Badgers and Wildcats play very different styles of football, though both run the ball well. This matchup would feature two of the very best running backs in college football too. We’re all familiar with Jonathan Taylor, but Benny Snell from Kentucky has been great this year garnering some Heisman buzz of his own here and there.

Winning this game would come down to stopping the run, which would be difficult for Wisconsin due to Snell, but also Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson, who is dynamic with his feet. Luckily for Wisconsin in this hypothetical matchup, Kentucky wouldn’t be too keen on taking advantage of an inexperienced Wisconsin secondary.
