DE Isaiahh Loudermilk

Loudermilk will miss his third consecutive game.  There has not been much news regarding the severity of Loudermilk’s injury.  Many people believed he was close to playing in the Michigan game, but after missing last week’s game as well this upcoming game who knows how long he will be out.  It is also not a good sign considering he was ruled out in the preliminary injury report that was released Monday.  Essentially there was 0% chance that Loudermilk was going to play against Northwestern.

Hopefully, the coaching staff is simply being patient with an incredibly talented and young player who still has a lot to play for in his Wisconsin career. If Loudermilk can return for the important road trip to Happy Valley when the Badgers take on the Nittany Lions in two weeks that would be extremely helpful.

Kayden Lyles and Matt Henningsen look to be improving with each game.  There are still far away from producing like Loudermilk but there has been some solid production.  On interior runs last week against Illinois, they played solid assignment football that allowed the inside linebackers make tackles.  On runs to the outside, they continue to struggle.  They lack the speed and are at times fooled by read options.  Defending the run will not be as important this week, as Northwestern is one of the worst rushing teams in the country.
