Beat Minnesota

This season is the best chance the Gophers have had in a while of ending their current losing streak to the Badgers. There hasn’t been a one-score game in this rivalry this decade. It didn’t look like this year would change those fortunes for Minnesota, but you never know with the way the Badgers have looked recently.

Regardless, Wisconsin is still the better team and this year’s edition of the Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Ax takes place in Camp Randall. There are no excuses for the Badgers to let the streak come to an end this year. I can’t even begin to imagine what that would look like for this program moving forward.

With the Big Ten Championship just about out of reach, Minnesota is the last chance the Badgers have to gain momentum heading into their bowl game. A blowout like we’ve seen in recent years would do a lot for momentum. A loss would wipe it completely away. And it would put the Badgers in an even deeper hole, facing what could be a 6-6 record.

Wisconsin still has a lot to play for. The Badgers need support down the stretch from the fan base to achieve these goals. Otherwise, the offseason is not going to be fun.
