At Indiana

OH BABY! March is still a few days away but this one has all the makings to be a doozy. The regular season is winding down and Wisconsin is playing a college basketball blue blood on national television. It’s safe to say that Indiana has been very underwhelming the past couple of seasons. This year feels different for the Hoosiers though.

They return a lot of depth (five upperclassmen who played significant minutes last season) And unlike Illinois, Indiana is BIG. Ten guys who are 6’6 or taller. They also added 5-star guard Romeo Langford who just might end up Big Ten freshman of the year. The biggest returning piece for the Hoosiers is Juwan Morgan. The big man averaged 16.5 ppg and added 7.4 rpg last year. Ethan Happ dominated Morgan last year in Madison going off for 28 points and cleaning the glass with 10 rebounds. He will have to play lights out again for Wisconsin to have a chance.

But even if this game were in Madison I don’t think it would make a difference. Wisconsin loses.

Penn State

Coming off a tough loss to Indiana this game has all the makings for a major letdown. One thing that I have confidence in though is that the Wisconsin backcourt will be able to take advantage of some inconsistencies in the Penn State guard position and play lockdown defense.  As long as that holds true I don’t think that this team, with all the offensive weapons they have, can shoot themselves in the foot enough to squander this game away. Wisconsin Wins.
