Minnesota

Minnesota is led by a tank in the form of Jordan Murphy, who tied for the NCAA lead in double-doubles last year. He received All-Big Ten honors in the preseason and the program will surely go as he does.

Wisconsin faced Minnesota only once last year, winning in overtime in the Kohl Center. Despite Wisconsin’s woes, Minnesota had many of its own. The Gophers entered last year ranked No. 15 and was a team with the potential to make some noise in the Big Ten. The Gophers ended up finishing 15-17 on the year and face an uphill battle again to rebound this year. Winning this game in Madison won’t be easy for the Gophers. Bucky rolls.

At Penn State

Penn State would be a much tougher opponent if Tony Carr were still with the program. He signed overseas after an incredible sophomore year in which he led the Nittany Lions to the NIT Championship.

Penn State is predicted to finish in the bottom tier of the Big Ten, and these are games Wisconsin simply has to find a way to win. If the Badgers struggle to win on the road against teams like Penn State the rest of the schedule isn’t going to be a fun experience.

Wisconsin takes care of business here as Penn State is too pre-occupied reliving last year’s magical run in the NIT.
