Ethan Happ can prove he’s the real deal

If you couldn’t already tell, Ethan Happ is good at basketball. His game isn’t super flashy so he’s not getting the national recognition he might deserve just yet. But with a nice performance in the Battle 4 Atlantis that could all change.

Last year was rough for the Badgers and Happ. Wisconsin missed the tournament and despite Happ’s good season he still was regarded as somebody who couldn’t lead a team. He returned to school for his senior season and has so far been proving those doubters wrong. He’s having the best season of his career in just about every statistical category and the Badgers look like a tournament team once again.

Happ has so many tools that he can impact a game in so many different ways. Against some other potential NCAA Tournament teams this week I expect him to put them all on display. With the whole country watching, this is the moment Happ has been waiting for. The last thing everybody outside of Wisconsin and the Big Ten remembers of the Badgers is the tournament loss to Florida. This is a much different team and a much different Ethan Happ.

Happ might be the best player in this tournament and he’ll have a great chance to lead his team to a championship. If that happens, look out. There will be a ton of coverage for the Badgers moving forward and lots of love for Happ.
