Here are some things I wish for in 2019 from the Wisconsin Badgers.

Now that it’s been 2019 for a little over a week we can start to look ahead to some goals for the next 12 months for both the Wisconsin football and Wisconsin basketball team.

The past year wasn’t the best for the Wisconsin Badgers. Both football and basketball saw some rough times and both programs are probably looking to turn the page. For the basketball team, that has already begun. For the football team, next season can’t come soon enough.

The highlight of the football season last year came just before the calendars turned over. The thrilling Orange Bowl victory over Miami happened on December 30, 2017. Outside of closing the deal on prized quarterback recruit Graham Mertz and seeing Jonathan Taylor run for 2,000 yards, this year has been one to forget for the football team.

The basketball team, on the other hand, has started its season off strong and looks to carry momentum deep into 2019. The way last season ended in the Spring of 2018 was one of the most disappointing things Wisconsin fans had witnessed in years. Thanks to a hot start this year that is a distant memory only brought up by my writing.

So here’s to what should be a better 2019 full of great moments for Badger fans. If all of these wishes come true Badger fans are in for a magical year. Some are far-fetched but all are attainable. If we fast forward through 2019 and into 2020 and I found out all of these things came true I wouldn’t be totally shocked.

Next year will be a great one for the Wisconsin Badgers.
