Have a top 25 recruiting class by 2019 early signing period

Wisconsin is inching towards capping off one of its best recruiting cycles in program history. Considering who is in the class, it just may be the best ever. The Badgers currently sit at 28 on the list of team rankings, according to 247 Sports. But next year they can climb even higher.

The Badgers already have four commits in the 2020 class, all offensive linemen, two of whom are four-star players with a significant chance to increase their ratings. We’re still not quite finished with the class of 2019 so focus hasn’t been entirely shifted to 2020 yet. When it finally is, I expect the Badgers to hit the ground running and capitalize off its success from this year.

The Badgers were able to use an incredible 13-1 2017 season to its advantage on the recruiting trails for the current class, so it’s possible recruiting will be difficult moving forward. Only time will tell if that’s the case.

If the Badgers are going to continue trending upwards and disregard the hiccup that was the 2018 season then another program-best recruiting class should be the focus. Wisconsin always develops their talent extremely well so I’m not concerned about getting good players, but there is an opportunity for Wisconsin to continue to land great players if Paul Chryst can improve yet again on his recruiting successes.
