Wisconsin Basketball: 5 transfer players the Badgers should go after
By Sam Land
Pat Andree – F, Lehigh
2018-19 notable statistics: 12.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 42% 3P
Lehigh’s Pat Andree would be another solid get on the transfer market for a Wisconsin squad in need of reinforcements in the frontcourt.
The 6’8 forward averaged nearly 13 points per game for the Mountain Hawks this past season, thanks mostly to lights-out shooting from long range. Andree averaged just under six attempts a contest from beyond the arc and converted an excellent 42 percent of them. Whether he would come off the bench or play alongside Reuvers at the 4 in the starting lineup, after watching the Badgers go ice-cold offensively for the last few weeks of the season, it’s clear next year’s squad could really use a big guy like Andree that’s good for knocking down at least a couple of threes a game most nights.
In addition, while he’s not the type of player that will do much damage in the paint, Andree has got some solid instincts on the boards, ranking No. 7 in the Patriot League at 6.2 rebounds a game in 2019-19. That ability would be a welcome addition for the Badgers after losing their two top rebounders from this past season in Ethan Happ and Khalil Iverson.
It doesn’t appear as though Wisconsin has gotten involved with Andree yet, but plenty of other schools have, including NC State, TCU, Kansas State, USC, Duquesne, Northwestern, Wake Forest, Boston College, Pittsburgh, and Illinois. Evan Daniels of 247Sports has reported that he will be visiting the Wolfpack the weekend of April 12th.
