#1 – Daniel Jackson

Position: Wide Receiver

Hometown: Mission, KS

Rankings: 4-star (No. 299 overall, No. 54 WR)

Other offers: Iowa State, Minnesota, Arizona State, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M

While it’s certainly up for debate, personally, I’m going to go with Kansas wide receiver Daniel Jackson as Wisconsin’s top target in this 2020 class.

The 4-star prospect clearly has future No.1 receiver potential at the next level with his speed and athleticism, boasting a verified 4.5 40-yard dash to go along with a 38-inch vertical leap. Jackson also has solid size, standing just about 6 feet tall and currently weighing in at 185 pounds. The icing on the cake for Wisconsin is that Jackson already has a relationship with freshman quarterback and fellow Kansas native Graham Mertz, as the two were teammates at Bishop Miege for two seasons before Mertz transferred to Blue Valley North.

While there is already plenty of talent in the wide receiver room thanks to Paul Chryst and his staff’s success on the recruiting trail over the last few years, the thought of Mertz and Jackson growing up in the program together and hooking up down the field for a few seasons should have Wisconsin fans salivating.

The Badgers appear to be in great shape to land Jackson’s services at the moment, and like the other players on this list, they will have the chance to blow him away on his official visit during the weekend of (you guessed it!) June 7.

That being said, I’m not sure you can call them the favorite: Iowa State and Minnesota are trending in this recruitment as well. Ideally, Wisconsin would like to land a pledge from Jackson after his official, but that might be wishful thinking given his scheduled visits to Minnesota and Iowa State during the following two weekends.
